Daylight Saving Time

Still Recovering from the Day Light Saving Time? If you ask me? I still am, there is something about the change of time the makes me sleep more.
This is the time of year that most of us like, because days are longer, and more time to spend outdoors.

What is the reason behind the time change?

According to webexhibits.com

The main purpose of Daylight Saving Time (called "Summer Time" in many places in the world) is to make better use of daylight. We change our clocks during the summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to the evening. Countries have different change dates.

Changing time benefits activities that exploits sunlight like sports, hiking, and other activities that uses sunlight. Farmers and occupations that involves some sun exposure does not get any benefit of it. It also saves energy and more money in our pocket since we use less electricity.

The Idea of Day Light Saving time came from Benjamin Franklin while he was in Paris in 1784, William William Willett an Englishman was the one who proposed to do it.

"Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise,"

~Benjamin Franklin

The real father of Daylight Saving Time was an Englishman, William Willett (1857-1915), a house builder who spent the last eight years of his life petitioning for the adoption of DST by the British Parliament, and did so at his own expense.
